Our event is focused on improving the community and professional development of underrepresented minorities, particularly for graduate students although all are welcome. Due to the lack of representation and curbed support for underrepresented minorities, we believe that this event will draw significant attention to the cause and allow for students to interact and build a supportive network of students that have shared experiences as well as utilizing the event to gain professional development skills through speakers and targeted workshops.
